Dairy Free Baby Quiches

Life as a Mum can be very busy, and it's important to have healthy snacks ready to go. I find it difficult to find the time to cook some days but by including my daughter it is far more enjoyable and great fun for her too. I have a two year old that can be very fussy with foods. I try and make some foods fun, while also nutritious, and she loves these.

I have found that children that help cook the food, eat more of it! If children help in the process they are more likely to consume what they have cooked as they have been involved in the process. These baby quiches are super quick and easy to involve children. The Little Helper FunPod is a fantastic tool to allow children to be up at the kitchen bench to help you cook.

Let the kids help wash the veggies. This is a good learning opportunity to educate the importance of washing our food before we eat it, as we don't know where it has been before we bought it.

If you have a child safe knife you can also place some easy-to cut veggies in front of them to keep involved, showing them what each vegetable is and how yummy they are to eat!

I have taught my daughter how to crack an egg, which she thought was the best thing ever! Remember to chop up all your veggies small so they are easy to eat for children. 


Dairy Free Baby Quiches


7 eggs

3 tablespoons almond milk

1/2 teaspoon mixed herbs

1/4 teaspoon iodised salt

1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

1/2 cup chopped ham

1/2 cup finely chopped red pepper

1 grated carrot

canola spray for pan


Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

Cut up your veggies into small pieces and place into a large bowl. Grate your carrot and place into the bowl. Crack your eggs into a cup so you can remove any egg shell pieces that may have come off, then add to the bowl. Next cut up your ham and place into the bowl. Finally add the almond milk, spices, salt and pepper. Mix all the ingredients together in the bowl until combined.

Next pop some baking paper into your muffin tray holes, then spoon the mixture into each hole.

Place in the oven and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and place on a cooling rack. Now enjoy!

Your children will love them and they are fun and nutritious for the whole family.
